Pavement Pounders Community Interest Company ( spoken memory projects)
Pavement Pounders listen to Folkestone. Current project : Folkestone under Attack about growing up in our town during World War Two. In these difficult times it is important to keep listening Covid-19 changes everything Face to face interviewing is of course not now possible. We are finding other ways to listen to Folkestone. We now offer telephone interviews either by phoning us or if you prefer by recording your story on your or a family member’s smart phone and sending us the file. This not only gives a voice to the self-isolating but also to Folkestonians who no longer live in the area. We know that many of you have written memoirs either your own or those of a loved one. Send them to us we shall get young volunteers to voice them. Set the ball rolling by giving us a call or e-mailing us 01303 252838 pavementpounders@gmail.com Studio 5, 56/58 The Old High Street, Folkestone, CT20 1RN Our local WWII spoken memory projects are supported by: The Community Fund, Folkestone and District Council, Folkestone Town Council, Sandgate Parish Council, The Sandgate Society, The Tory Family Trust and the Roger DeHaan Charitable Trust.
