Folkestone Art Society
Folkestone Art Society (FAS) was formed in 1928. Since then the membership has grown to over 200. The first exhibition was held in 1935 and exhibitions have been held every year since then except for the war years. FAS aims to promote the visual arts to the wider public through exhibitions, workshops and lectures. It encourages excellence in the visual, creative and applied arts through providing its members with opportunities to exhibit and sell artworks as well as encouraging young people studying art and design through its annual Gloria Gordon Award. Members also meet socially and are active within Folkestone`s thriving arts community.
